WB2014 by Wool See Lyrics
Once every five years (something like that)
Snowmageddon, snowpocalypse
Winter Blast
[Verse]
I watch as it all falls and blankets the whole floor
The city looking virgin pure (so beautiful)
Might forget somewhere, someone is doing worse than you are
So let’s go, Fourth and Burnside, right to dream too
Yeah, there’s a price on free too
I’ll describe the scene
Hard luck, it’s not just hard drugs and fiends
Mental illness and runaway teens
All walks of lost souls buckle under they demons
Outside factors, unseen forces
Call them what you will, they’re at play
In determining which of us shelter evades
This is the hand that you’re dealt, no exchanges
(Don’t like it?)
Blame the dealer, blame the game
Blame yourself for sitting down at the table
But what choice did you have? What’s free will?
We’re either pushed out the womb or surgically removed
Premature with no tools
No logic, no reason, no empathy
Just lumps of potential energy
As the brain develops, the burden reveals its girth
Until like Atlas’ back, we feel this world
And some would say, to shed its weight is to fully awaken
I’m working towards that point but I’m not quite at it
If I were, I probably wouldn’t need to write this passage
If it feels good I might make it a habit
If it feels great, shit paint me an addict
I medicate but struggle with moderation
I liberate from these constructs through meditation
End of the day, I just count my blessings
Say thanks and reserve my questions
Some of which might just keep me up at night stressing
But I wouldn’t trade this life for any others, if I’m destined
For destitution I might eat those words
But if the soup kitchen's open, I’mma eat there first
All the riches on this earth sleeping next to me in bed
And as a wise man once said, it’s all bad
Cause even if our love never dies, both of us will
Most likely not together so one of us has to deal
With that loss, it all goes back to shedding that weight
Easier said than done when God taketh his gift away
Somewhere a millionaire's dying with a needle in his arm
And a sober homeless man is catching hypothermia
And they’re both good people, but this was just their hand dealt
So build it while you can kids then watch that snowman melt
Snowmageddon, snowpocalypse
