The Battle by Tomis Reil Lyrics
Chorus
This battle in my brain
Makes me go insane
This battle in my brain
Makes me go insane
This battle in my brain
Makes me go insane
Verse 1
9 years I was segregated
9 years that was wasted
5 out of those 9 years
That’s what I really hated
Always being discriminated
Always being intimidated
Never had much friends
But Jack and Dan
They were school famous
They made fun of me
For the only color they see
Which was the color green
The thing that runs society
Pays cops off quietly
Ruined all equality
Starts up rivalries
Cause to them that color green
Grows on trees, but for me
I had to work for the cheddar
To pay my fees
To live free
Just to see
What the world
Can be
Don’t care if you disagree
Cause ya know eventually
We’ll have equality
Run through each city
Just like a mama dear
With her bambis
There’s plenty of fish in the sea
But no one tries to catch me
I remember through those grades
Those kids would change my race
They would tell me my DNA
That is in my veins
I knew it wasn’t right
But I agreed anyway
(VOICEOVER): Who am I? I am the sun and the moon. I am both part of adulthood and connect with the youth. I am someone who once had happiness but lost it 8 years ago. Through all the lies and deceit comes a time to live and learn and truly realize what you deserve. Heartbreak might hurt but love is the thing someone will die for. Love is a facade built by HollyWood executives. Saying you should dance and run in the rain and have a happy ending. When in reality, the love is shown in the inside, not the outside. Love is a feeling that people have to earn and once they earn it, they need to care for it. Unfortunately, I still have yet to learn what love fully is. I might overcome the battles, but I will never win the war

Makes me go insane
This battle in my brain

This battle in my brain
Makes me go insane
This battle in my brain

This battle in my brain
