Poverty by Thomson Lyrics
Cause there are people living worldwide in severe poverty,
But the oddity is that we fight for equality, not caring about other people’s life quality
It’s mockery, but our total curiosity goes towards property prices and commodities,
But let’s take it back, because our knowledge is poor,
What would you do if a homeless person knocked on your door,
Would you open it up and maybe offer some tea or would you tell them to just get off your property
But the problem isn’t where you stand in the situation,
But rather societies double standardised expectations,
Because we suspect that all their money probably goes towards drugs,
When mental health and family problems should be in consideration
Everywhere you go,
Yeah, the people always know,
That there are people, there are people,
There are people, there are people without a home.
And Yet the problem that I see,
Is all the money that we gleam,
We could be working altogether,
We should be helping the community,
Now we take a step back, a different point of view,
It comes apparent that anyone could be poor; even you,
3 million people in a lower-eco-state,
And yet what would you do if all your money was erased,
1 in 6 kids under the age of 15,
Do not have enough money to get regular decent feeds.
Nearly half of our elders over 65,
Haven’t got enough money to get them to the day they die.
A third of single parents with little money left,
Cause when your divorced or widowed, its hard to be adept,
We pray for the people in famine all around the world,
But we should look at all our families disregarded girls.
But there are ways that you can help,
Not a magic trick not show and tell,
We need to take on a new attitude,
And thank about the things given to you,
A small donation can go a long way,
And volunteer work benefits you as well,
But even if you just say hey,
It could make a poor person’s whole day.
