A Dream by The Living Wells Lyrics
This is a dream that I really had
An old man was standing on a lily pad
In the sky as high as what must’ve been a mile
White flowing beard surrounding a familiar smile
And I was also standing there
On a lower lily pad but still suspended in the air
Then he looked at me like he knew me
And slowly, he opened his palm and extended it out to me
I knew what he wanted, he didn’t have to speak
But I was so afraid that he was beyond my grasp to reach
Only after sleep did I realize that he was asking me
Do I believe in myself enough to push past and leap
Should I take his hand? You better take it
An old man was standing on a lily pad
In the sky as high as what must’ve been a mile
White flowing beard surrounding a familiar smile
And I was also standing there
On a lower lily pad but still suspended in the air
Then he looked at me like he knew me
And slowly, he opened his palm and extended it out to me
I knew what he wanted, he didn’t have to speak
But I was so afraid that he was beyond my grasp to reach
Only after sleep did I realize that he was asking me
Do I believe in myself enough to push past and leap
Should I take his hand? You better take it
