DONE. - Live from Spotify NYC - Live from Spotify NYC 2013 by The Band Perry Lyrics

Genre: pop | Year: 2013

[Intro:]
Whoa!
Here we go now
Whoa!
Woo-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-oh, yeah

[Verse 1]
You've been wearing that crown and tearing me down
It's been a while since you've treated me right
You strung me along for far too long
'Cause I never gave up the fight
Until no-ow
Well, it's gonna hit you hard 'til you see stars
It’s gonna put you through a world of hurt
Oh, I don't believe in getting even
But giving what you deserve
Oh my, oh my-y, hey!

[Chorus:]
Mama always told me that I should play nice
She didn't know you when she gave me that advice
I'm thro-ough with yo-ou
(Listen) You're one bridge I'd like to burn
Bottle up the ashes, smash the urn
I'm thro-ough with yo-ou, la dee da (oh-la-de-da)
I don't wanna be your "just for fun"
Don't wanna be under your thumb
All I wanna be is done
Can you hear us out there? Ha
[Verse 2]
You crossed the line too many times
I'm gonna put you in your place
You play with dynamite, don't be surprised
When I blow up in your face
Oh my-y, oh my, hey!

I don't wanna be part of your fun
Don't wanna be under your thumb
All I wanna be is done
Can you hear us out there? Ha
I don't wanna part of your fun
Don't wanna be under your thumb
All I wanna be is done

[Bridge:]
Done with your selfish ways
Done and all the games you play
I'm through with you and everything you sa-a-ay, ye-yeah!
Ha, ta
[Chorus:]
Now mama always told me that I should play nice
She didn't know you when she gave me that advice, ice, ice-ice
Mama always taught me that I should play nice
But she didn't know you when she gave me that advice
I'm through (I'm through) with you (with you)
You're one bridge I'd like to burn
Scatter the ashes, smash the urn (smash the urn)
I'm through with you, la dee da (la-de-da)

[Chorus:]
Well, I don't wanna be your "just for fun"
Don't wanna be under your thumb
All I wanna be is done
Done
Sing it
All I wanna be is done
One more time
All I wanna be is done

[Outro:]
Uh!
Ooo-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh
Here we go
Now here we go
[Spoken:]

[Kimberly:]
Thank you

[Spotify NYC:]
Well that was pretty rocking
We actually asked your fans to send us some questions on Twitter and they came back with a ton of questions and our crack social media has got a few and we want to know if you want to answer them?

[Kimberly:]
Fantastic

[Spotify NYC:]
Here's a few
When did you first decide you guys wanted to make a band with your siblings?

[Kimberly:]
That is a great question, we actually celebrate fifteen of traveling all together in October of this year
I know our songs have only been on the radio for a few years now there was like this decade worth of very humble shows and very bad songwriting

[Reid:]
Very Spinal Tap moments, so there were actually more people on the stage than in the crowd at some moments - *most moments, actually* - most moments, begging to go home

[Kimberly:]
We actually started out at two seperate bands in the beginning, Reid and Neil, and Neil was the baby, 8 and 10, and when I got started at fifteen and so there was this crazy height difference between the three of us, and they put together this little rock and roll band, they were doing Led Zepplin covers and Rolling Stones covers, they were playing the Beatles, and I fronted a band of high school buddies of mine, these guys who could care less about being in a band, but I really loved it, so I stuck with it. Their band would always open for mine on the road, all over the Southeast, which is how we got started, and then this one really cool moment happened when you guys had gotten as tall as me - and then started surpassing

[Reid:]
Now we're just waiting for me to catch up. But actually, our very first show was in the lingerie department of a Walmart (it's true), so the mighty begins

[Spotify NYC:]
You've gotta start somewhere

[Kimberly:]
Well, we wanna play you another song off our new record, Pioneer, it's one of our favorites, it's gonna be out at radio soon, and um, I really love this song, because like, the chorus has such a passionate melody, arguably one of the biggest melodies on the record, and it has all these mixed emotions, it's talking about being in the moment but really obsessing over it and considering the future, and there's all this pull and push and tug in this song that we really love, I hope you like it. It's called Don't Let Me Be Lonely
