Prayer by Rev. W. A. White Lyrics

Genre: misc | Year: 1925

Almighty God, Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the giver of every good and perfect gift, the Creator of heaven and Earth and all mankind: before Thee and in Thy blessed presence, we bow upon our knees at this hour. Become our Father with our hearts bowed in humbled submission to Thee, asking Thee for Thy guidance, Thy protection, and Thy grace over us through this day. We realize, our Father, Thou art our omnipotent in power, and omnipresent in spirit. Grant Thy charge blessings, we pray Thee, upon the chief executives of this, our land and country. Bless our nation, bless our churches, and bless us with the outpouring of Thy holy spirit. Guide us, we pray Thee, into the ways of all truth. Keep our feet in the straight and narrow path. Direct us, our Father, in the light, so that we may lead sinners to repentance, and the ungodly to the words of truth. Grant Thy charge benedictions upon us all together. Lead us, we pray Thee Our Father, to beside the still water. Lead us from green pastures. Ever be Thou our shield and buckler. Thou, our Father, who heard our prayer in ages passed by and gone. Thou who are the shepherd that lead the children on the other side to land of promise. Guide us, we pray Thee, by day. Oh our Father in heaven, this afternoon we ask Thy divine blessings upon the organizations [?] together in Thy name. Hold us by power divine, bless us with the outpouring of Thy spirit. And ultimately, our Father, when life's uneven journey must come to a close and we can sing no more Zion songs, offer no more of our weak petitions onto Thee, when our crying and weeping for mourners and sinners can be heard no more, when the death angel shall creep into our chamber in the [?] of the night. We must study war no more, somewhere then into the realms of Thy eternal bliss. All us in heaven, save us and crown us, and we shall give Thee the praise, the honor, and the glory, world without end, to Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
