Reshma Saujani Campaign Receives Backing of Queens County Democrats by Reshma Saujani Lyrics
New York, NY -- Reshma Saujani, former Deputy Public Advocate and founder of the national non-profit organization Girls Who Code, today received a critical endorsement from the Queens County Democratic Party.
"I'm incredibly proud to have the support of the Queens Democrats in my campaign to create opportunity for all New Yorkers as Public Advocate, and I want to thank Representative Joe Crowley for his friendship and commitment and so many residents here in Queens. Queens represents the future of our city, and I look forward to working with the dedicated leaders and vibrant communities here to move our middle class forward. As the daughter of immigrants, I am especially humbled to join with diverse voters in Queens to elect the first South Asian in the history of the City of New York."
The Queens County Democratic Organization is the largest county party to endorse in the Public Advocate race and is widely known to carry tremendous influence in city elections, thanks to their impressive petitioning and GOTV operations run across the borough.
Saujani has consistently advocated for Queens residents from working with community leaders to provide relief after Superstorm Sandy to fighting for quality after school programs. In April, Saujani formally launched her five borough "Opportunity for All" tour in Queens, meeting with small business owners, residents, and elected officials to learn their stories and propose innovative solutions to our City's greatest challenges.
