Dreamers by Mr Gee Poet Lyrics
We were born to be dreamers,
Yet somehow we just forgot along the way,
Given our daily bread to need the dough,
So it affects how we think & what we say,
And as for the present day,
Well what most will call reality,
Is merely someone else’s decision,
Blinded by hocus-pocus,
As we focus in on someone else’s vision,
Meanwhile,
We all know that something else is missing,
From this carefully constructed fantasy,
Nonsense is upgraded & given value ,
Imprinted well into the tapestry,
Thus the real travesty,
Is that we no longer trust in how we feel,
Or go by what we know,
Deep in our hearts to just be real,
For we were all born to be dreamers,
Where our minds are free & allowed to play,
To redefine our old boundaries,
Yet somehow,
We just forgot along the way,
So watch me float throughout this world,
With a hope in hell & half a dream,
Denying misplaced values,
Rejecting that which I don’t need,
And that which shouldn’t be,
And that which wouldn’t see me rise above the clouds,
To taste the air
& feel the breeze,
For nothing else can set us free,
Unless it rests internally,
Connected to our deeper essence,
Reflected every time we breathe,
And so our “dark days” shouldn’t be so long,
For they all surrender to the night,
Fate may be cruel,
But it can change its tune,
To serenade the morning light,
For nature always remembers,
That everything has its right place,
Everything has its right time,
Everything needs its right grace,
For we were all born to be dreamers,
To conceive our future days,
To give birth to new tomorrows,
Somehow we just forgot along the way
Yet somehow we just forgot along the way,
Given our daily bread to need the dough,
So it affects how we think & what we say,
And as for the present day,
