Already Gone by Morgan Enos Lyrics
It's January 19th and I just got back from a UK tour. And I really can't help but to think about the death of the musical genius Glenn Frey
Passed away last night, but I thank him for the beautiful memories he gave me. And how he went through life's alleyways with attitude and style
Late one summer, me and an old girlfriend were listening to "Hotel California" on vinyl. And I fell into a trance, he'd already gone to "New Kid In Town."
One time I saw Glenn backstage, but he was kind of busy, but I met Don Henley and Joe Walsh. What a funny guy, I'll always treasure my memory of Joe Walsh
And after the show we went and got oysters and lobster. It was delicious, just me Don Henley and Joe Walsh, wow, what are the odds? If I'd tell my 13 year old self I was hanging out with two members of The Eagles, woulda blew my mind
Looking out into the bay January 20th, just one day after, still thinking about Glenn Frey and what he meant to me all these years
And his beautiful hope on "Take It Easy" always gives me chills. I know people hate on The Eagles but they're dumb little kids. They should've appreciated these beautiful songs that The Eagles wrote for us. What a loss in this world
David Bowie died, he had such an influence on me as a young musician when I picked up a guitar. Ziggy Stardust and The Thin White Duke. Beautiful albums, a sensitive man. He was a father and a family man and a heart and I send love to his family. I don't have any children, but I wonder what it would be like to have children
And I remember listening to Low and the sound of sound division blasting from a girlfriends car (her name was Marie) late one summer night we went out for ice cream and pizza, it was delicious
It breaks my heart, and I cried and cried when I heard about Glenn Frey, and David Bowie and all the musical heroes and visionaries in my life
Brooklyn hipsters with their earbuds and cool glasses couldn't possibly have the love, brilliance and imagination to fuckin challenge the world like David Bowie. So you sit in your mom's basement on your MacBook writing some crap about "Mark said this at the festival. Mark said this, Mark said that. Mark said this, Mark said that."
Fire [?] just heard about the guy from The Specials passing away. Seems like more musicians are dying every day. What a lesson
What a lesson to treasure the world you live in every day. If you like Glenn Frey, David Bowie or the drummer from The Specials and give em hell every single day
