Internal Bleeding by Mic Bminor Lyrics
The 22nd Day of the 5th month
In the year 1989 12:53 was the time
A Young mind was instituted to the school of life
A gift from God to a young man and his wife
Their skin color was the opposite of white
So to get where they got financially they had to fight
And despite, what economy said
Pop brought the bread and put my momma through school
She got her masters back in 92
That's the first year I played an instrument for the masses
3 years old on the drums, no prior classes
Just trash lids and practice for the young prodigy
And the musical genes from my momma and my daddy
At the tender age of 5 I began piano lessons
Thought about quitting but my pops kept me in
And kept on pushing me
Cause he could see his son's anointing, pointing
In the direction of his son's unusually musically
Occupied mind, it was there that he would find
The one key that would unlock a unique creativity
Potentially, greater than his own
Which is what he would condone
Just as long as I took this gift past an "if" in life
Nigga!
I bet my life sounds like a fairly tale
But let me tell you niggas y'all don't know me very well
But Very well, let me scoot this story along
To what went wrong with our seemingly, promising character
The day was the first day of the 6th grade
And y'all should know this day because it's better known as scrub day
And on this day, some 8th grades thought this day was the best day
To fuck with young niggas like me
Now picture me, tall and skinny with my friends which were not many
Out there sitting waiting for lunch to end
We weren't expecting like birds resting
Shit We were sitting ducks
That just so happened to be near a trash can
Our situation really sucks
So they ran up on us but I ain't no wuss
Cause I was watching BET all summer, so I fought back
Now we fighting no security in sight and
Next thing you know I'm on the wall with a knife at my neck
That's when the boy got in my face and said
"You Better Learn your Place"
But by God's grace they ran away cause a teacher was checking
The situation out because he heard somebody shout "Help!"
Because there was a fight occurring
So he asked me and my friends was it us
That was out here fighting on the yard just a few seconds ago
Best believe and trust that I should've told
But the unwritten "nigga law" of no snitching suggested "no"
Along with that decision had come another
To guarantee that this would never happen by no other
So I let my grades slip unlike my sister and brother
But the person I seemed to be hurting the most was my mother
My disappointed father tried to whoop me straight
But my mind was corrupted by then
It was too late
I didn't care about my life or my fate
So my unknown potential was clouded by my mind state
So as a last resort
Pop resorted to moving me from my humble abode to his sister's house
Then he checked me into school
With the gangsters and criminals in training
Against the begging wishes of his spouse
The first day I was quiet as a mouse
But soon as accepted me the homies brought me out
You know
Teaching me all about
All the things I knew not of
Such as gangs, drugs, getting money and making love
In half a year I learned so much from them
But it was my time to move away from them
Cause the Lord heard my mom praying
And helped me raise my grades
Like he raised his son from the grave on the 3rd day
Daddy let me move back in but
Little did he know that I was harboring a Demon
But my mom's prayers kept it dormant
But still it was absorbent of the many things in life
That I'd kept in
It slept in until my high school scrub day
That's when I got into it, with the esse's
The next day and the next day Monday through Friday
For the rest of the semester drama kept coming my way
Daddy checked me out and put me in another school
Similar story, new shit from the same bull
But I'm the fool that used to think
That my lifestyle would just sync
With success up in the class
Because I expected these teacher to pass me
When my friends would ask me did I need help
I would actually make em believe
That I controlled my own gravity
Then I got with a bitch that was so nasty
She would give me good head in between classes
I left her for a girl that was so classy
But she drove me "crazzy", oops I meant crazy
Next thing you know my daddy kicked me out the house again
And this time my daddy really
Did not want to let me back in
