Annotated Hamlet Requirements:
As a group:
Dramatize your assigned scene to reflect characterization & staging (video)
Present and respond to critical perspectives (find, excerpt a brief section of literary criticism, and explain how it relates to play/scene in one paragraph)
Make connections between Hamlet and contemporary society as well as Elizabethan England (video, text, interviews, etc.)
Individually (must annotate DIFFERENT elements than each other group member):
Paraphrase 15- 20 lines of key dialogue
Analyze examples of figurative language, allusions, motifs, lit devices, etc. (each group member annotates for one literary motif and one other literary device in scene)
Define 2 key words in scene (part of speech, accurate definition(s) for that context (you might consult the Oxford English Dictionary Online for accuracy for Elizabethan times, or Shakespeare dictionaries online)
Paragraph on how one element of this scene helps develop a theme throughout the play
