Frustrated Interlude by Justin Drury Lyrics
I find myself so frustrated at the world that didn’t allow us to grow up as the queer kids that we were
And so then literally someone comes along that treats us a little bit better than everyone else
It’s still less than half
It’s not sustainable
But that’s all we knew, that’s all they know, so we accept it
We build a life together, we build a marriage, we go on all of these different adventures together, but none of that’s sustainable
We didn’t get the opportunity to learn who we were as individuals
We didn’t get the opportunity to have a crush, and go on dates, and get to know people, ask people to coffee
That’s not the world that I grew up in
That’s not the world that he grew up in
So, it can’t last forever
And we end up having the break up that straight people got to have in high school
