I Am The C.P.R. by FR33STYLE Lyrics

Genre: rap | Year: 2012

[Verse 1: FR33STYLE]
I pity the fools who think this rap game is easy
Who rhyme 'cat' with 'hat' and compare themselves to Weezy
Staying monotone, but sadly too many people condone it
I'll admit, it's hard to come up with a style of my own
It's tough to be waiting, I find it degrading
To have to sit back while the rap game is suffocating
With half the stuff put out now is about smoking
No wonder it's choking, the other half's about who's the 'dough-king'
Which is as pointless as Facebook poking
I only wish I was joking, but I'm not and it's provoking
People to say hip hop is dead, so the fans they fled
Cause they believed everything they read
But I believe they're mislead cause I see good times ahead
Starting with me, and your attention I'll seize
I'm not trying to rep the streets or kick it back with G's
After all, I'm just aiming to please
So if you listen to these fools I guess you're caught up in the rapture
Headed for disaster, falling faster and faster
But if you listen to me you can start a new chapter
Cause I'm the C.P.R., the Cleverly Progressing Rapper
Alwyas attacking like a raptor
Planning to alter your vision of the rap world so call me the lenscrafter
But what I'm really after is a banner up in the rafters
To prove that I'm a champion and that I rip apart every rap I'm on
Man, I'm running so fast I forgot what lap I'm on
I mean that's what you hear nowadays is all that hedonism
So let me try it out, just watch my egotism
[Verse 2: FR33STYLE]
Well I'm ready to rap it up like a present
Cause it's my gift to the average day peasant
Oh, you don't find me to be pleasant?
Good, cause I could roast you like a pheasant
Now do you see why all these other rappers are hesitant?
But I won't offer an apology until they acknowledge me
I mean, look! I got my masters in Rapology
So leave it to FR33STYLE to do the freestyling
Just let me kick back and leave my mind on auto pilot
'Cause they don't know where I've been
Well I just arrived and it feels like I'm flying in
They've never heard it like this before
And I always leave them wanting more
'Cause my verses are deeper than the ocean floor
And my mind is like a wide open door
Letting out a lion, can't you hear my mighty roar!
These lines are so notable
With so many quotables you won't believe I wrote 'em all
I don't just walk the walk, I talk the talk
Cause I ignite the crowd faster than arena rock
And excite you so much it knocks off your pair of socks
But your shoes are still on so that makes it a paradox
Of course my music is the only thing playing man I run this block
So if you just moved in, watch out for the aftershock
Wanna talk power? Man, I'm built off it
Cause I spit it while they cough it
Give 'em all I can offer but never profit
Still other competitors find it hard to top it
Like they're stuck in a haze, or lost in a maze
While I've been working to raise my game in many ways
Days upon days, to get ready to set the mic ablaze!
It's funny how you think I'm showing off, you tell me to watch it
Man I love it when people try to knock me down a notch
Cause haters are the one thing you need
To feed the speed of the stampede
When your words are as sharp as a sword
You can sit back and watch 'em bleed
I'm the best, so go ahead and take that bet
I got my GPS, I don't need you to tell me if I made it yet!
[Verse 3: FR33STYLE]
So how'd you like those rhyme schemes and reoccuring themes?
Not too bad, but it's gonna take more than that to redeem the mainstream
Cause fans remain to be entertained but then complain
About what it contained and refrained from saying it was great
Cause they wanted to know just what they gained
Well, what's the deal? You're tired of me running my wheels?
Keeping you on your heels, you wanna know how I really feel?
Then get ready for something raw, emotional, and real

[Verse 4: FR33STYLE]
I don't know if my listeners really know what I'm about
So I'mma scream and shout until they agree to hear me out
First off, I'm built off respect, that's my basis
So I don't care if I'm white cause when you rap
It doesn't matter what your race is
And although I put on many different faces to cover all the bases
In the end, I keep it balanced like homeostasis
Some people wonder what their chances are that they advance far
Make it big, take the fame and drive off in a fancy car
But to me that's irrelevant cause that thinking could become malevolent
I want my words to be for the betterment and come off as intelligent
So it truly brings out the best in me
As far as I'm concerned, I'm blessed to be
Rapping, I'm glad God put it in my destiny
It's comforting to know He's there for me, to take care of me
And I know that every night He hears a prayer from me
Unfortunately, in the current scene that's seldom seen
And all too often artists are caught in between
See, while other rappers are on the fast track to getting cash stacks
I'm busy having flashbacks of what my past lacked
Mainly my father, can't say I love him, but I wouldn't say I hate him
And even though we're related, I cannot relate to him
If we ever were to meet, well I don't know what I'd say to him
I guess the only message I would relay to him is that I pray for him
[Verse 5: FR33STYLE]
There you have it, the realest rap I've ever written
So go ahead and count on it cause I don't plan on quittin'
And to everyone who talks about hip hop history
Well you can't write it yet cause it's still missin' me!
