Never Ending Commentary by Exits Lyrics

Genre: rock | Year: 2015

The fourth song is called "Never Ending," and...this is a song that I also really enjoyed writing, I think. I'm very proud of these lyrics in particular

I think the past is something we put a lot of energy into thinking about. At least for me, I can definitely say I spend more time thinking about yesterday than I'll think about tomorrow. Or than I'll think about right now, recording this commentary. And I think part of that is because the past completely shapes us. And I know that's kinda, like, a cliché thing to say, but...I'm definitely different today than I was yesterday. Like, we're always lеarning, and I think we're always trying to improve whеther...whether we know it or not

We definitely attempt to learn from our mistakes, and whether we're successful or not kinda varies on the person. But I think the message behind this song is that some things are always gonna stick with you. No matter...if you try to forget them, or...try to move away from them, or try to pretend that those things aren't part of you. And I kinda think that it's a very important thing to address. I think it can help you find some clarity if you kind of accept things for how they are, and...and for what they mean to you

So that's what this song is about. It's about something that's gonna stick with me for...forever, essentially. And it's about...kind of finding yourself through those things. And...almost-and growing from them. That-that really is the message behind this song. It's saying, "This thing is never gonna end, even...even if it's over." And kinda "How can I take that, and how can I change with that and accept that? And...and grow from it rather than dwell about it?"

And I can say...definitely after the way that I've been trying to think and trying to do things in my life recently, that I definitely am starting to think more about the moment, and about what I can do for the future and how I can get there. Rather than just focusing on yesterday, I can kind of just say, "Yesterday is...it is what it is. It's gonna be a part of me whether I want it to be or not. I can try to forget it, but I would much rather grow from it, and I'd much rather learn from it." Even if it's something that is so important to you, that essentially, you're willing to, like, die for it, which is definitely a topic that is talked about in this song
