The End of A New Beginning
St. Martin De Porres was not only a place of education but also a place that created memories, created stories to be told to your kids and grandkids. For example if it wasn’t for that I wouldn’t have the aunt I have now. My mom still keeps in contact with her best friend from high school. So of course when that school closes people are going to be devastated. Who wouldn’t wanna be able to drive past a high school that was open 25 years ago.
Cornerstone was a place where I was able to create my own memories. Not only was that the place where I met my first best friends but also where a lot of doors opened for me. If it wasn’t for that school I really don’t know where I would be. Such a coincidence that mother and daughter went to the same school. Just with a different name, I can only pray someone will have the same experience as I did.
Fortunately the school was never torn down because not too long from those 25 years, cornerstone was the new St. Martin De Porres, catholic and all. Of course nothing good last forever, the school is still open. Although that school will never be be St. Martin De Porres, it sure does come pretty close. At least the memories can continue on, just with another name. Hopefully this school doesn’t get closed at all, we will just have to see.
