Week 14 reading journal period 4 by Callie Trundle Lyrics
11/11/13: Today, in Mocking-Jay, I read the part where Katniss' ribs are still kind of healing and everything after being shot. She is also surprised when Peeta asks to talk to her. When she visits him, he is strapped down in his hospital bed so he can't attack her. He tells her about how he remembers the day he gave her the bread. After that, she's informed that she won't be going to the Capitol because they think she isn't an experienced soldier. So she decides to start training and getting her self healthy again, Johanna joins her because she knows that she's not doing so hot herself.
11/12/13: Today, in Mocking-Jay, I read the part where Katniss finally is able to go out into war. Her and Gale are on the same squad along Finnick, Boggs, and some other people. Nothing really important happens in the book right now, except that Boggs dies because some bombs were set off.
11/13/13: Today, in Mocking-Jay, I read the part where Katniss and the others visit a stylist, who is also a victor in one of the very first Hunger games but wasn't in it that year, named Tigris. Her name is really quite accurate because of the fact that she got some sort of surgery to make her face look like a tiger with stripes, whiskers and everything. She helps them get out of the situation they're in and help them try to look like rebels so they aren't recognized. It seems to work when they get out there though because nobody recognizes them.
11/14/13: Today, in Mocking-Jay, I read the part where Katniss and the others are going out into the huge crowd of people that gathered in the center of the town. Still, nobody recognizes them and all of a sudden, a bunch of rebels come out and start shooting people. After the shooting, medical teams start to rush out there and help the wounded and remove the dead. Her sister, Primrose, was one of the medical people. That's when the bombs started falling and one happened to fall near primrose and killed her instantly. Katniss saw everything.
11/15/13: Today, in Mocking-Jay, I read the part where Katniss just saw Prim go up in flames . She too is engulfed in flames, and she wakes up in hospital and when she comes to her senses and realizes what happened, she wants to break down in tears but doesn't. She just feels empty, hollow. She also wakes up smelling roses and follows the scent. It leads her to president Snow's room and he's sitting there waiting for her. They talk about how the bombs weren't his fault and says it was Gale's and Beetee's fault. She doesn't want to believe him but she doesn't know what to do really.
