The physical world in which we live in is comprised almost entirely in its matter by tiny elements called "Atoms." There are other mysterious forces which we don't completely understand yet, such as black holes and dark matter for an example which are also part of the physical universe, however the scientific community has come to a vast understanding of these elements. These elements are all described in something we like to call a chemists best friend the "Periodic Table." No, it's not "that time of the month" and the elements aren't going to lash out on you because you were out too late with your friends. The Periodic Table contains information of every atom and is constantly expanding with more information about the atoms we know, and new elements we find. Oganesson falling in the category of a noble gas, was only discovered in 2016. That's only 3 years ago. Every atom is listed and described on the Periodic Table with information about it such as: 1) Atomic Weight 2) Atomic Number 3) Element Abreviation Symbol and 4) Element name.
The most basic Atomic Formula there is is for calculating an element's mass.
A= N + Z
Where A is the mass, N is neutrons and Z is for protons.
This is our first class so you don't get any homework today.
