There's a crispness in the air that greets the morning sun,
a feeling of anticipation, a new day has begun.
As the first leaf approaches the ground,
The eye spots colors all around.
No more do kids play soccer with their coaches,
The gentle breeze becomes stronger,
as fall approaches.
Harvest days are ending, winter is drawing near,
yet in between is surely the most special time of year,
Pumpkins are lying around the once blue lakes,
The rustle of leaves being gathered by rakes.
The orange sky above so high,
All you see are crows clumsily fly.
Now as I sit contented, atop of one of these,
a book in hand to pass the time, the sound of a gentle breeze,
Children jumping in the leaf piles,
Looking down road, which now seem as narrow aisles.
Fall has just begun-
as summer ends,
The color of the leaves gleaming in the sun-
Jumping in leaves with friends...
